MY BACKGROUND AND SERVICES
My Background
Mx Alexi Ash BSc (Hons) ACIEEM Dip GD is a non-binary professional landscaper and home improvements tradesperson based in Bournemouth,Dorset. I've been working in clients gardens since the age of 14, I have
qualified with A' levels in fine Art and History of Art, Design and Architecture and achieved a BSc (Hons) in Environmental sciences with the University of Leicester. I set up the landscaping side of the business in Sussex, at the age of 25. Since then i have been involved in all manner of projects, including groundworks and wildlife habitat creation including working on Mid-Sussex council nature reserves. I have also been renovating and restoring homes for the last 15 years and have turned my hand to all aspects of home improvements. Many of my clients are regarded as regulars and friends.
ON DESIGN
Having tastefully renovated many homes and gardens of my own, i have developed skills for producing a quality finish on a budget, wherever possible. However, i also believe in not skimping on materials choice or construction methods in key areas, because this is what sets a project apart. I Like to combine beauty with practicality and for me even a wall is a chance to create a thing of beauty, choosing the best bricks, brick bonding patterns and style of capping.
As well as creating ultra modern, minimalist styles, I enjoy making new structures look period and choosing materials which replicate this. For me, clutter and bitty, busy areas are to be replaced with bold, simple, strong, clear lines and structure. Its essential the garden structure compliments the house in both style and materials selection and planting should be both an extension and a way of enhancing this further.
